AILET 2026 Applications Open; Exam Scheduled for December 14

The All India Law Entrance Test (AILET) 2026 application portal was launched by the National Law University (NLU) Delhi on August 7. Applicants can apply for enrollment in the BA LLB (Hons) and LLM programs for the 2026-27 academic year at nationallawuniversitydelhi.in

The AILET 2026 online application will end on November 10. AILET 2026 is scheduled for December 14. Applicants must choose three cities to sit for the exam. If the candidate count in any test city falls below 100, that city will not have a test centre, and candidates will be assigned to their second or third choice of test city, as stated by NLU Delhi.

The admission eligibility requirements for the undergraduate (UG) program include a minimum of 45 percent marks in the Class 12 examination. For OBC, the least qualifying marks are 42 percent, while for SC and ST, the minimum qualifying marks are 40 percent. Students appearing for Class 12 in 2026 will also qualify for AILET 2026.

Candidates must possess an LLB or an equivalent law degree with 50 percent marks to qualify for the LLM (one-year) non-residential programme. For students from SC, ST, and those with disabilities, the minimum percentage needed to pass would be 45 percent. Previously, it was 55 percent marks for UR category students and 50 percent for those in reserved categories.

Applicants must submit their applications online and pay an application fee of Rs 3,000. The application cost for SC/ST applicants and individuals with disabilities (PwD) is Rs 1000. Candidates from SC/ST categories and women who are Below Poverty Line (BPL) are not required to pay the online application fee.

NLU Delhi is set to hold the All India Entrance Test (AIET) on May 3, 2026, for entry into its Postgraduate Insolvency Programme (PGIP) — available as a one-year Master of Arts (MA) or Master of Laws (LLM), the two-year Joint Master’s/LLM Programme in Intellectual Property (IP) Law and Management, and the PhD Programme.

The comprehensive admission announcement for AIET 2026 will be published in January 2026, with online application forms for these courses accessible on the official website from January 7, 2026.
