Bheemanna Khandre Institute of Technology - An engineering college based on the rural vicinity in northern corner of Karnataka is a source of promising professionals than many others receiving education from urban counterparts.
Classes, seminars, lectures, workshops are a common phenomena in every educational institution but not in Bheemanna Khandre Institute of Technology (BKIT). The institution takes pride in their way of accommodating and processing of the pedagogy and learning methods from common to extra-ordinary in their campus.
The institute takes the responsibility of molding students into world class graduates training them to be innovative and creative. For instilling the essence of innovation and creativity, BKIT profoundly believes in incorporating a sense of responsibility through effective training and infuse ethics in outgoing professionals. With an eye to continuous enhancement of the learning methodologies, BKIT has adopted a very common but strong learning system i.e. to engage students with an all round development along with education wherein the faculty members are highly attributed for the obtaining it. The institute has conducted 20 workshops, seminars last year and encourages both students and faculty members to attend national and international conferences
In order to ensure a proper orientation of the students, faculty members take in charge of everything from the beginning till the end of the course. As the faculty members have in-depth knowledge of the subject and ability to connect with practical implications, they instill the same in the students. Encouraged to adopt a self learning attitude, students are made to explore their potentials which would help them to face any challenge further in life
Furthermore, orientation and instilling a strong belief system is assisted by many other factors. One such factor is research. The institute has a centre of excellence for performing computational analysis along with four other research laboratories in the campus in Electronics & Communication, Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics for conducting research activities leading to award of Ph.D. There are 14 ongoing research projects in various topics and over 60 research paper being published in the last academic year. With the same intention, BKIT has collaborated with a number of organizations for student and faculty development. IIT Roorkee, IIIT Hyderabad and Amrita VishwaVidyalayam, Kollam are in collaboration for their nodal centre for virtual labs in the areas of engineering and sciences. The institute fosters multi-disciplinary collaborations to solve the most pressing global problems by being the home of interdisciplinary programs wherein expertise of chemical and mechanical engineering are combined to encompass an extraordinary breadth of research from theoretical physics, chemistry to applied experimentation conducted in partnership with industry.
BKIT though situated in rural area, overcomes distance as a roadblock to bring in many expected facilities. The institute boasts of equipping students with a balanced skill sets in terms of technical, interpersonal or soft skills. They are groomed from basic level to advanced technical expertise required in the industry by conducting various technical workshops and soft skill training programs at various levels during their academic tenure. Every year BKIT witnesses 14-16 organizations such as Infosys, HCL, Cognizant and many more recruiting a number of students securing 80 per cent placement record (2014-15).
In the same way not only in placing students successfully in major reputed organizations, BKIT has developed a state of the art Entrepreneurship Development Cell to conduct high quality programs with expert professionals from industries and academia. This is to prepare the students mindset so that they take interest in becoming best entrepreneur through participation in Entrepreneurship Awareness Program (EAP) and Entrepreneurship Development Program (EDP) organized by the institute frequently. This has not only developed a new range of individuals in the institute to work on their dreams along with academics but has given them strength to believe on their own instinct boosting confidence in them.
BKIT being known for imbibing in students ethical principles for making social development has already conducted various programs on women empowerment and Swachha Bharat Campaign. Where educational institutes are in race to make one feature of their institute to be the best and stand out from the rest, BKIT already breaks out of this cliché and spreads out their fragrance of knowledge and wisdom by maintaining a hotspot of integrated learning.
