Established in 1982, Bheemanna Khandre Institute of Technology, Bhalki (Formerly known as Rural Engineering College, Bhalki) in Bidar district of Karnataka State, is one of the oldest engineering colleges in the state. With 50 percent students from Karnataka and the rest 50 percent from all parts of India, It has the right blend of students. The college runs training programs for rural students sponsored by The Government Tool Room & Training Centre (GTTC). They provide scholarship and fee concession of more than 75 percent for meritorious students and top rankers of Karnataka CET and AIEEE exams.
Academic Resources:
The college has a magnificent building and good infrastructure featuring about 70,000 m2 built up area. The campus is well equipped with laboratories, workshops, drawing halls, seminar halls and a big Library that holds about 65000 books, 17000 titles and more than 2000 journals in print as well as online. Along with it, the management has provided many departmental computer centers and browsing centers with broadband internet connectivity. Apart from basic amenities like canteen, bank, gymnasium, sports facilities, the college has initiated a Language Lab that caters to the needs of students and staff to improve their language and communication skills with the help of audio/visual interactive aids.
Departments and Faculties:
The 31 years old institution is running eight undergraduate programs that include BE Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Telecommunication Engineering, Information Science & Engineering, Instrumentation Technology, and Chemical Engineering as well as six postgraduate courses. The college has more than 160 teaching staff and 180 non-teaching staff members in different position working satisfactorily and contributing to the better development of the students and the college.
Placement Details:
The college has achieved the more than 80 percent placement records in recent years, which is an excellent figure when considering the current job market scenario for fresh graduates.

Life inside the Campus:
As half of the students come from various parts of the country, the institute has set up three boys hostels and two girls hostels, which can accommodate 700 boys and 350 girls respectively. All the three boys hostels and two girls hostels as well as the students residential buildings are filled with activity in the evening hours with students scurrying about the carry out their tasks. To nurture leadership abilities and various skills of students, they have started many students centric activity clubs like NSS and Students � Staff Association. Volunteered by this club, they conduct events such as 'Ranboomi', 'Janani' and 'Techno' 'Utsav.'
