With the economic development of Commonwealth countries, there has been increased focus on the effectiveness of education and cost of education in different levels of the education system. The region has been gradually becoming an attractive option for international students looking to pursue higher education. In this issue, we have focused on this educational landscape. The cover story of this issue features Belarusian National Technical University which is not just a conventional national engineering university with a 100-year rich history, but also a unique educational, scientific, and innovative cluster in the national system of higher education. The mission of BNTU is to provide advanced, highquality engineering education that meets the requirements of the world's labour market, based on the close integration of educational, scientific, innovative, industrial, ideological, and educational processes. Set up with the mission of opening a new page in the high latitude investigation and establishing an innovation and human resource base to foster knowledge-based exploration of the Arctic, NArFU creates conditions necessary to support the industrial projects being launched in the polar region with personnel and technologies. It offers individualized education according to the requests of its students. The educational programs are flexible and allow an adjustment to the interests of students.
