In a recent interaction with Higher Education Review, Ramakrishna Vyamajala shared his thoughts on various aspects pertaining to HR Tech solutions. Below are the excerpts from the exclusive interview -
People are the crux of any organization and as the competition is fiercely growing, the need for people management and technology adoption is critically growing. Today where organizations are extensively integrating technology across their operational models, the right HR Tech solutions can dynamically help to improve performance, provide cost savings, and boost the overall competitiveness of a company's HR functions. HR Tech solutions have proved useful in not only meeting employee expectations but also overcoming a range of unprecedented challenges.
There are multiple criteria to look into, when organizations try to bring HR technology solutions on board. First and foremost, if it fits the work that entities/ individual is trying to do in HR- supporting the automation that is being introduced i.e., does the system cover those aspects? The second area will be around focusing on alignment to the organization and its needs respective to the industry it thrives in, considering HR in particular. And, third aspect would be its future adaptability i.e., it should be agile enough. How have they built the system? Is it agile enough? Will it incorporate the changes that are going to come in the future? So, these are broadly three important aspects of selecting an HR technology solution.
In the context of development, a lot has been changing and evolving as time passes. And no one knows what the future holds. For example, the pandemic changed a lot of things that we knew and thought we would see in the future. Many are adapting to this evolution and people are working remotely, hybrid, and some from the office, too. How technology helps unite all these three groups of people and deliver enriching results is captivating.

Data Synchronization & Data Accuracy
Data privacy is key today. Most systems we use today comply with various things like GDPR regulations, the IT Act, and all other guidelines (local regulations, global regulations) and differ basis- the domain of work and location of work (continents/countries/states). Not every system does that, so it is important that one has all these checks done, defining their journey. Hence, how the data moves from one system to the other is clearly articulated, and then integration becomes much easier. Otherwise, what happens is that there is miscommunication between systems, and you will not have the best integration possible. So for basic data and integrity, ensuring a single source of truth is vital.
Role of HR Tech in fostering a sense of Belonging and Team spirit when working remotely in a hybrid work environment
Undoubtedly, there will be a lot of distractions with hybrid, but a little bit of preparation before and after is something that can really prove effective in hybrid working. And, it's the common goal, the purpose that defines how well you will be able to overcome those distractions. Everybody's perception can't be the way of figuring out whether the work is got done or not. One is trying to achieve and keep the focus; if you do that, then most of the interactions while people are working hybrid will become fruitful.
Promote Agility in an Organization
Unlearning has been the pathway ahead to growth for all now and that defines agility. If you want to be agile, then the key would be to unlearn what you've learned, try and focus on what is the new problem that you are facing, and try and figure out new solutions to that. If a problem changes, the context changes, the solution that you are offering cannot be the same. In this ever-changing world, it is very difficult to come up with solutions every other day, so, figure out what the context is and how the context is changing can prove productive.
Effect of emerging technologies such as Artificial intelligence, Virtual reality, and more on Future Education
Professional learning in organizations and education from a children's point of view, all of them have greatly benefited due to the advent of technology today. Emerging technologies have profuse advantages to education and learning space now. The advent of AI and so many other generative AI applications, make a big difference in terms of education today, hence the key would be how you harness it. The future will be depending on how educated one is and how much he understands and is able to apply basics.With the availability of advanced tech solutions in HR, the updating will be a trend. Staying abreast and in sync with technology can prove engaging and further enhance the collective learning experience.
