Promoting Industry-Relevant Education With an ability to respond to a fast-changing global market, IIHMR University has created an environment that encourages competitiveness, uninhibited academic freedom, critical thinking, innovation, and creativity. Last year, the institution collaborated with United Nations Academic Impact (UNAI), American Society for Quality (ASQ), Shalby Academy, Society for Education, Action & Research in Community Health (SEARCH) and Jhpiego to work together on public health research and exchange of expertise and produce research outputs regarding public health issues related to rural and tribal populations covering national, regional, and global perspectives and promote industry-relevant education and capacity building in the quality management area.
In addition, the University has worked collaboratively with the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, USA, as well as international agencies like the World Health Organization (WHO), World Bank, United Nations (UN), and Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation in a range of research, training, and education activities.
“Currently we are engaged in the active implementation of New Education Policy (NEP 2020) which requires close collaboration with the industry and other stakeholders for flexible and innovative skill-focused learning. Separate teams have been formed to collaborate with industry as well as to design the NEP 2020 plan for implementation. In the next 3-5 years we want to develop the flexible skill/conventional qualifications with greater integration of practical learning. We are also working on technology-enabled learning options within the applicable regulatory guidelines,” concludes Dr. Prahlad Rai Sodani.
