Kristu Jayanti College, founded in 1999, is run by "Bodhi Niketan Trust", formed by the members of St. Joseph Province of the Carmelites of Mary Immaculate (CMI). The college is affiliated to Bangalore University and was accorded autonomous status from 2013 by the University Grants Commission, Government of Karnataka and the Bangalore University. The college began with 1 course, 9 students and 3 full time academic faculties in 1999. The institution strives to fulfill its mission to provide educational opportunities to all aspiring youth to excel in life by developing academic excellence, fostering values, creating civic responsibility and building global competencies in a dynamic environment.
Although the institution is in its infancy, the thrust given to academics and research is on a strong note. The college has collaborated with industry, social organizations and institutions at national and international levels for academic and research purposes. With its humble foray into research activities the college has also established an institution-neighborhood network through its extension and outreach programs. Centre for Research actively promotes research and inculcates research culture and firmly works on to inculcate research culture in the institution, disseminate information, motivate, guide and monitor research projects among students and teachers.
