Stanley Medical College, Chennai is one of the oldest medical colleges in India. The college offers various courses in medical sciences, at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. It affiliated to Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University. The institute is associated with the Government Stanley Hospital and trains the students in the hospital too. The MBBS course starts with the basic pre-clinical subjects such as biochemistry, physiology, anatomy, microbiology, pathology and pharmacology. This course concentrates at detailed knowledge of all the aspects of medicine and surgery and the curriculum includes practical as well as theoretical knowledge of the subject. The objective of the course is to create qualified professionals in the field of medicine and surgery.
