Each year, Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Rankings, Times Higher Education rankings and the Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) by Shanghai Jiao Tong University remind the Indian universities that they do not belong at the top. Research is the foremost USP of the universities who grab the top rankings and Indian universities lacks research culture in their campuses.

Studying abroad thus allows the students to be part of a vibrant learning environment, apart from earning a wholesome experience of knowing other cultures, diverse individuals, different lifestyles, traditions and ethos.
Moreover, promoting self-study, the foreign universities do not compel the students spending long hours in the classroom, which provides the students ample time for opting a part-time job and make them self-reliant and confident. For Indian students dreaming of an international degree, it results in a great relief in maintaining their expenses. Besides this, there are always several scholarship facilities for meritorious students along with loan spaces proposed by assorted banks easing the pain of economically backward aspirants.

Recognizing the research-oriented learning and best laboratories offered by the top universities all over, annually countless students fly to different countries -US, UK, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, including the emerging prominent overseas study destinations like Germany, China , Singapore, Switzerland and so on, in order to explore these opportunities. According to the Indian Students Mobility Report published in 2016, the number of international students from India crossed 3, 50,000 back in 2015, and is expected to increase over the next couple of years.

These statistics have give growth to the establishment of numerous overseas consultancy houses in almost every corner of the country, who now assist the aspiring students in choosing the right kind of universities, matching the requirements, admission process, scholarship information, helping in the documentation, visa counseling and following up them during their stay in the respective universities. However, with no regulatory mechanism to oversee the overseas educational consultants, many aspiring students are often trapped with consultants who do not hold the credentials to guide.

We at Higher Education Review, hence, for the Indian students who have pinned studying abroad as a goal in their careers, have come up with an authentic list of Overseas Education Consultancies located in India. Each organization mentioned in the next few pages has been hand-picked after considering the credentials, reputation, and quality of the services they offer by our research team as the 'Overseas Consultancy of the Year- 2017.'
