HBS, formerly known as Management Education Centre, follows a case-study based pedagogy for all courses other than Quantitative Methods. The Research Centre has been set up with mentorship from internationally reputed experts from Calcutta University, Jadavpur University and University of New South Wales. Students are encouraged to come up with research ideas. In addition, the School approaches different Agencies like Federation of Small & Medium Enterprises, Consultants and other Industries to entrust the School with research topics on problem areas identified by them. Small teams of students, guided by the Faculty, analyze these types and come up with recommendations for implementation, thus leading to innovative ideas. "Innovation cannot be taught but the process of Innovation, innovative ideas and their initialization are motivated through proper mentorship, motivation and finally forwarded to venture capitalists for funding," pinpoints Prof. Banerjee. HBS is improving the benchmarks in terms of placement in foreign organizations, tie-ups with leading educational institutes in India and abroad, and establishing satellite based learning systems and collaborative programs with leading management gurus and top Ivy League B-Schools in the world.

Prof. Banerjee, a National Merit Scholar of Government of India completed his B.E. (Hons) from BITS Pilani and MBA from XLRI Jamshedpur. He is a Fellow Member of several Professional Bodies and has worked in India and in several other countries in the areas of Construction and Infrastructure Projects. He has held responsible positions including Director, Managing Director, CEO, COO etc. He has been teaching in BBA and MBA Programs in India and abroad for the last 13 years.
