Top 25 Private/Deemed Universities in India

HER Team
The current number of universities in India is around 700 which include the central and state universities and private Universities. While India's best Universities are run by the Government, the smartest Universities that are emerging are doing so in the private sector. However, it is virtually impossible for the entire bag of over a million students to get a seat in these Universities.

There are Universities that are emulating the global standards by signing MoUs and adapting to international standards, while there are those that are simply carrying the brand name wagon and filling its seats. In this edition of the Higher Education Review (HER) Magazine, we present “Top 25 Private/Deemed Universities in India” to provide assistance to the large community of students in India and to enable them to choose for themselves. The University Survey was born as; we have found many Universities with capability of producing brilliant minds and entrepreneurs that are operating from remote locations around the country. They are well equipped with excellent academic resources and faculties who are capable of turning an average student to an extra ordinary resource. Some of the Universities have already made their mark in the education arena and some are new names but with strong ideologies and innovative pedagogies which have the potential to transform the present scenario of education in the country. We strongly believe that it is important to bring out the names of such Universities into the limelight.

Apart from exhaustive blue print elucidating the ideas about Private/ Deemed Universities in India, the survey will also foster healthy competition among the universities to attract the best talent. The survey represents the viewpoints of several renowned and experienced business leaders from the industry. While the survey is conducted on the basis of Nominations received from the Universities, they have been evaluated and shortlisted by a panel of Educationalists, HR Recruiters, and the HER Editorial team based on the data inputs provided by the institutes. We hope our efforts to create this comprehensive ranking of Universities in India will help the student community to make the accurate decisions about their study destinations.
