The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) will begin the CA Intermediate September 2026 examinations on September 1, with exams scheduled through September 12. The examinations will be conducted in offline mode from 2 PM to 5 PM at designated centres across the country.

The six papers will be conducted across two groups. Group 1 exams are scheduled for September 1, 3 and 6, while Group 2 exams will take place on September 8, 10 and 12.

Candidates appearing for the examination must carry a printed copy of their CA Intermediate admit card along with an original, valid photo identity document. Acceptable IDs include an Aadhaar card, PAN card, Voter ID, Passport or Driving Licence.

Students are advised to reach their examination centres well in advance to avoid delays during entry and verification. They should carefully check the examination centre address and reporting instructions mentioned on their admit card before leaving for the exam.

Candidates should also ensure that they carry only permitted items into the examination hall and follow all instructions issued by ICAI and the respective examination centre. Keeping essential documents ready the previous evening can help avoid last-minute difficulties.

With the first paper scheduled for September 1, candidates should use the remaining preparation time for quick revision of formulas, concepts, important provisions, practical questions and frequently reviewed topics rather than attempting to cover large portions of new material.

The September 2026 session provides candidates with another opportunity to clear individual papers or groups under the CA Intermediate examination scheme. ICAI conducts the Intermediate examination three times a year, providing students with greater flexibility in progressing through the Chartered Accountancy course.

As the examination approaches, candidates should prioritise time management, adequate rest and careful planning for each exam day. Carrying the required documents, reaching the centre on time and following ICAI's examination instructions will be essential for a smooth examination experience.
