CA January 2027 Exams: ICAI Announces Foundation and Inter Dates

ICAI announces the January 2027 CA Foundation and Intermediate examination schedule, with Intermediate exams beginning January 2 and Foundation papers scheduled from January 3 to 9.

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has announced the examination schedule for the Chartered Accountancy (CA) Foundation and Intermediate January 2027 examinations. The timetable covers candidates appearing for the two courses across examination centres in India and selected overseas locations.

According to the schedule, the CA Intermediate examinations are conducted in two groups. Group I papers are scheduled for January 2, 4 and 6, 2027, while Group II examinations take place on January 8, 10 and 12, 2027. All Intermediate papers are conducted from 2 pm to 5 pm, with each examination carrying duration of three hours.

The CA Foundation examination is scheduled on four dates — January 3, 5, 7 and 9, 2027. Papers 1 and 2 are conducted from 2 pm to 5 pm, with three-hour duration. Papers 3 and 4 are scheduled from 2 pm to 4 pm, with duration of two hours.

The Foundation examination covers four papers under the current course structure. Candidates appearing for the January 2027 session are required to follow the examination dates and timings mentioned in the ICAI notification.

The January 2027 examinations are scheduled to be conducted at examination centres across India. ICAI also lists three overseas examination cities Bahrain, Dubai and Kathmandu for the session. The examination commencement time at the Dubai centre is 12:30 pm local time, corresponding to 2 pm IST, while the Bahrain centre begins the examination at 11:30 am local time.

ICAI has stated that examinations at the announced centres are subject to a sufficient number of candidates opting to appear from the respective locations. The institute also indicates that the examination schedule remains unchanged even where public holidays occur during the examination period.
