FMGE 2026 Eligibility Certificate Applications Begins Today

NMC will open FMGE 2026 Eligibility Certificate applications on September 1 at 10 AM. Candidates can apply until September 30 at 6 PM. An EC is mandatory for appearing in FMGE, while existing applicants need not apply again.

The National Medical Commission (NMC) will open the online application window for the Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE) 2026 Eligibility Certificate (EC) on September 1 at 10 AM. Candidates planning to appear for the upcoming screening test must obtain an EC before they can apply for or undertake the examination.

Candidates who have already submitted an application for an Eligibility Certificate in the past do not need to apply again. New applicants can submit their forms through the NMC’s designated online application portal.

The application window will remain open until September 30, 2026, at 6 PM. The NMC has clarified that applications submitted after the deadline will not be accepted, making it important for eligible candidates to complete the process within the prescribed period.

The Eligibility Certificate is a mandatory requirement for candidates seeking to appear for the FMGE screening test. The examination is conducted for foreign medical graduates who seek to obtain registration to practise medicine in India, subject to meeting the applicable requirements.

The NMC has advised applicants to exercise caution while completing the application. Candidates have been asked to fill in the application themselves rather than relying on proxies and to provide an active mobile number so that they can receive updates and respond to any deficiencies identified during scrutiny.

Candidates who need to enquire about the status of their Eligibility Certificate application can contact the NMC through the designated email addresses. They must provide the File Tracking Number (FTN) generated during the application process. The commission has stated that enquiries without the required tracking number may not receive a response.

The opening of the EC application window is an important first step for foreign medical graduates preparing for the upcoming FMGE. Candidates should verify their eligibility, keep the required documents ready and carefully review all information before submitting their applications.
