FMGE December 2025: Applications Open Nov 14, Exam on Jan 17

• FMGE December 2025 applications open November 14, closing December 4, 2025.

• Passing the FMGE is mandatory for foreign medical graduates to register and practice in India.

The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has declared the opening of applications for the Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE) – December 2025 session, set to take place on January 17, 2026.

The assessment will take place on a digital platform in multiple testing locations nationwide. NBEMS has recommended that prospective candidates visit the board's official website - natboard.edu.in, to review the eligibility requirements, fee details, and exam format prior to submitting their applications.

As per the official announcement from NBEMS, the information bulletin for FMGE December 2025 will be accessible starting November 14 at 3 pm. Candidates may start to submit their FMGE December 2025 application form online from the same date and can continue doing so until December 4 (11:55 pm).

The results for FMGE December 2025 are anticipated to be announced by February 17, 2026. The FMGE is a required qualifying exam for Indian nationals and Overseas Citizens of India (OCIs) who have received their primary medical degrees from foreign institutions. Eligibility to register with the National Medical Commission (NMC) or state medical councils for practicing medicine in India is limited to those who pass this examination.

The FMGE June 2025 exam by NBE took place on July 26. The scorecards for FMGE June 2025 results were made available to candidates on August 21. The FMGE 2025 result scorecard can be downloaded solely for six months from the issuance date.
