IIT BHU Signs Pact to Boost Science and Tech Education

IIT (BHU) signs an MoU with Madhya Pradesh's Higher Education Department to strengthen science, technology, research, innovation and faculty development through academic collaboration aligned with NEP 2020.

Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between Indian Institute of Technology (BHU), Varanasi and the Higher Education Department, Government of Madhya Pradesh to forge partnership in areas of science and technology education, research and innovation and academic development. The signing ceremony takes place at Bhopal in the context of the state government’s initiative to improve the quality of higher education by partnering with the premier institutes under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.

The collaboration intends to foster academic excellence through joint research initiatives, course development, faculty development, student involvement, and technology-based learning programs. Both the institutions will collaborate in an effort to enhance their teaching and research capacities as well as promote innovations in higher educational institutions in Madhya Pradesh. Through this collaboration, there would be knowledge sharing and development of academic programs related to science and technology.

In the framework of the MoU, IIT (BHU) will provide its expertise to help in the development of faculty members, foster interdisciplinary research, and promote innovation-driven learning. Another objective of the partnership is the establishment of an environment in which institutions of higher education are linked to industries and research organizations so that students and educators can learn about advanced technology and science.

This is in line with a wider effort that has been carried out by the Madhya Pradesh Higher Education Department, which has signed 30 MoUs with renowned learning and research institutes during a national workshop on knowledge areas and implementation of the curriculum. The goal of this initiative is to bring the higher education system in the state in line with the vision of NEP 2020.

The collaboration is believed to help boost science education and enhance the quality of education in higher institutions using the expertise and contemporary ways of teaching and learning in research. Through the use of the expertise in engineering, technology, and innovation at IIT (BHU), it is hoped that the partnership will help increase the capacity of institutions in Madhya Pradesh.

The MoU is indicative of the increasing trend of working together of premier institutions and the state government for creating an education system that is future ready. By consistently working together in terms of research, innovation, faculty development, and technological integration, IIT (BHU) and the Higher Education Department of Madhya Pradesh hope to create academic excellence and a workforce that can solve scientific and technological issues.
