IIT Madras Launches AI Healthcare Executive Programme

Synopsis: IIT Madras Pravartak has launched a five-month executive programme on AI-driven healthcare transformation to equip healthcare professionals with practical skills in AI, Generative AI, and digital health innovation.

A program called “Executive Programme in AI-Driven Healthcare Transformation” has been introduced by IIT Madras Pravartak Technologies Foundation in association with Emeritus to enable healthcare professionals to make use of artificial intelligence technology to enhance their decision-making skills, improve the efficiency of their operations and deliver better healthcare services to patients.

This program is intended for medical practitioners, healthcare administrators, pharmaceutical industry personnel, public health specialists, and tech enthusiasts who wish to gain knowledge on how the development in AI is changing healthcare delivery. This program differs from other technical AI programs by having an easier-to-understand curriculum designed for individuals with no previous coding experience or knowledge of AI.

The curriculum will include a variety of subjects, including the basics of artificial intelligence, machine learning, generative AI and agentic AI, and also the implementation of all these concepts in the healthcare industry. Trainees will study the application of AI in diagnostic, patient engagement, medical documentation, operations, analytics and workflow optimization. The course will also pay attention to ethical and legal issues of AI implementation in healthcare organizations.

One of the key focus areas of the programme includes experiential learning through the study of case studies, industry use cases, and applied projects that help participants learn how to leverage AI technologies for overcoming the business and clinical problems that exist. The programme is aimed at preparing professionals to drive digital transformation programs in hospitals, healthcare institutions, pharmaceutical firms, and health technology companies.

This event is consistent with the overarching mission of IIT Madras Pravartak towards improving digital competency in India through professional education. This Technology Innovation Hub that was founded under the National Mission on Interdisciplinary Cyber-Physical Systems works towards developing specialized programs that train professionals with future-proof skills in various domains of technology.

As artificial intelligence is becoming more pervasive in the field of health care all over the world, there is increasing interest in technology which increases diagnostic accuracy, streamlines administrative procedures, tailors treatment strategies and increases effectiveness of treatment. The purpose of the program is to bridge the gap between health care knowledge and implementation of artificial intelligence in it.

Through this program, IIT Madras Pravartak seeks to develop a talent pool that can bring about innovations in the healthcare domain. Through academic and industrial training, this course enables its participants to be in a position to transform the healthcare industry through artificial intelligence technologies.
