NEET PG Round 2 Adds 2,620 New Seats in 2025 Matrix Update

The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has published the seat matrix for NEET PG round 2 counselling, revealing that nearly 32,000 seats are up for grabs due to actual and virtual vacancies.
In a significant update, the committee has included 2,620 additional seats to the matrix for this round. Candidates have been notified that the link for filling out choices for round 2 is active on the official website, mcc.nic.in.
MCC has launched the application portal for NEET PG round 2 counselling from December 5 until December 9. Candidates who did not receive seats in the initial round or who want to reapply for the All India Quota (AIQ) seats must complete their online applications during this period.
As per the NEET PG 2025 seat matrix, there are 32,080 seats in round 2, which include 17,623 actual vacancies, 11,837 virtual vacancies, and 2,620 newly introduced seats. Virtual vacancies denote positions occupied by candidates in round 1 who can choose to upgrade in later rounds.

The choice-filling process will stay available until 11:55 pm on December 9, with choice locking planned from 4 pm to 11:55 pm that day. According to the preferences provided, the MCC will reveal the round 2 seat allocation results on December 12.
Candidates’ assigned seats in the initial round of NEET PG counselling must now go to their designated medical colleges for document verification. Official figures indicate that 26,889 candidates obtained positions in both clinical and non-clinical courses during round 1. Among the courses, MD General Medicine stood out as the top choice for toppers, closely followed by MD Radiodiagnosis and MD Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
