IIT​‍​‌‍​‍‌​‍​‌‍​‍‌ Kanpur, IIM Calcutta and IIT Madras have announced that they are now accepting applications for the one-year, full-time, residential Post Graduate Programme for Executives for Visionary Leadership in Manufacturing (PGPEX-VLM) 2025, which is intended for engineers and professionals from the manufacturing and allied sectors. Candidates can submit their applications until November 18, 2025, by visiting the website iitk.ac.in/doms/vlm.

In this program students learn Product and Technology Excellence at IIT Kanpur, Business Excellence at IIM Calcutta and Process Excellence at IIT Madras. They spend more than 1,170 hours for the lectures, case studies, simulations, and industry projects. The curriculum includes Strategic Management, Leadership, Operations, Supply Chain, Product Design, Automation, Advanced Manufacturing, Quality Management, and Data Analytics.

An industry internship is part of the program where participants are expected to solve the manufacturing challenges of the real world. Candidates must have a work experience of at least 4.5 years to be eligible for this program (the maximum number of years is 10 for all, except sponsored candidates). The graduates become alumni of the three institutes.

The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), DPIIT and Ministry of Education were involved in the development of this program which comprises an international immersion in Japan to acquaint the participants with world-class lean production systems and technological innovation. PGPEX-VLM is a tool to equip mid-career professionals with visionary leadership skills to lead the manufacturing renaissance in India under Atmanirbhar Bharat among a $500 billion industry by ​‍​‌‍​‍‌​‍​‌‍​‍‌2030.
