IIT Gandhinagar Launches GenAI-Powered Tech PG Diploma Courses

• IIT Gandhinagar launches three six-month fully residential AI-focused PG diplomas.

The Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar has revealed the initiation of three fully residential six-month postgraduate diploma programs. The newly introduced programmes have been initiated via the IIT Gandhinagar Competency Development Foundation and in partnership with M/s. Futurense Technologies.

The programmes include PG Diploma in AI and Agentic AI Engineering, PG Diploma in GenAI and Data Science Engineering, and PG Diploma in AI-Driven Software Engineering with Cloud. The programs are scheduled to begin in February 2026.

Developed with a philosophy of build, deploy, scale, each six-month program will provide more than 600 hours of rigorous bootcamp-style education, equipping students with skills comparable to about two years of industry experience and turning learners into engineers who create and implement enterprise-level solutions.

Each program accepts only 60 students via AINPT (All India National Proficiency Test) and a multi-step interview process. Selected students enjoy a completely residential lifestyle at IIT Gandhinagar’s 400-acre, GRIHA-LD five-star rated sustainable campus, guided by IIT professors and industry experts from Fortune 500 firms.

The students will participate in over 600 hours of immersive bootcamp learning, integrating various innovative initiatives such as substantial projects in an AI clinic, an ideas lab, product deconstruction and reverse engineering, problem-solving activities, hands-on experience in AI application development, competitive coding, and more, which contribute to developing future skills. Using this approach, the program anticipates that through the immersive bootcamp format over six months, participants will emerge with a skill level comparable to two years of professional experience.

Graduates of these select programmes will receive full placement assistance, as long as they maintain consistent performance throughout the course. Upon graduation, they will hold an Executive Alumni status and gain entry to a network of leading achievers from IITs – the anticipated result is the fast-tracking of their careers at prestigious organizations.
