UPSC Civil Services Mains 2025 Starts Tomorrow, Check Guidelines

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) is prepared to hold the Civil Services Exam (UPSC CSE) Mains 2025 beginning tomorrow, August 22. The UPSC Mains examination will be held in two sessions: the morning session occurring from 9 AM to 12 PM and the afternoon session set for 2:30 PM to 5 PM.

Individuals who have passed the UPSC CSE preliminary exam this year are eligible to take the Mains exam. They need to bring their UPSC Mains admit card, which they should download from the official commission website at upsc.gov.in.

A hard copy of the e-Admit Card and an original photo ID must be brought by candidates attending the UPSC CSE Mains to enter the examination hall. Candidates whose e-Admit Cards do not have a clear image must present a passport-sized photo for each session, along with a declaration to take part in the exam. Candidates are recommended to arrive at the examination hall at least 30 minutes before the scheduled session time, since entry will not be allowed 10 minutes after the exam starts.

Applicants should refrain from bringing valuable or costly belongings to the center. The use or possession of mobile phones, electronic devices, or communication devices is entirely prohibited inside the examination venue. Furthermore, candidates are prohibited from bringing bags, luggage, expensive items, smart/digital watches, IT devices, books, or comparable items into the exam room.

UPSC CSE Mains 2025 Admit Card: Steps to Download

- Visit upsc.gov.in, the official site of UPSC.

- Find and select the link for the CSE Mains exam, then proceed to the section for active examinations.

- Select ‘e-admit cards for Civil Services (Mains) Exam.’

- Access your UPSC CSE Mains account with your login details.

- The screen will show your UPSC CSE Mains admit cards.

- Save and print a copy of it for the day of the exam.

The UPSC Mains examinations comprise nine descriptive or theoretical papers. Among these, two papers are designated for English and a regional language. The contestant must attend these two papers. The combined score for the two exams is 300. Documents 1, 2, 3, and 4 are designated for GS.

Every paper carries a weight of 250 marks. One essay examination and two written assignments for the elective subject the candidate selected. It comprises 250 marks as well. Following the successful completion of the civil service main exam, candidates will be invited for an interview.
