IIT Guwahati GATE 2026 Application Form Release Date, Fees & more

• GATE 2026 application opens August 25, closes September 25 (regular) or October 6 (late).
• Exam on February 7, 8, 14, 15, 2026, in two shifts; branch dates on admit card.
• Fees: INR 1,000 (Female/SC/ST/PwD) or INR 2,000 (others); INR 1,500/2,500 if late.

The application form for GATE 2026 will be available on the GOAPS portal (gate2026.iitg.ac.in) on August 25, 2025, by IIT Guwahati. During the regular fee period, candidates can apply between August 25 and September 25, 2025.

Candidates who apply between September 26 and October 6, 2025 will have the option for a late fee. GATE 2026 will be held on February 7, 8, 14, and 15, 2026 from 9:30 AM through 12:30 PM and 2:30 PM through 5:30 PM in two shifts.

Applicants can apply online through the GOAPS portal by registering for an enrollment ID and password to log in later. Applicants are encouraged to have all the details and documents ready.

How to Apply for GATE 2026:

• Visit gate2026.iitg.ac.in and access the application portal.
• Register to obtain an enrollment ID and password.
• Log in, complete the form, and upload required documents.
• Pay the category-based fee, accept the declaration, and print the form.

For GATE 2026, the application fees (for Female, SC, ST, and PwD category candidates) are INR 1,000 for per test paper in the regular period (August 25 - September 25) and INR 1,500 for the extended period (September 26 - October 6). All other candidates (including foreign candidates) will pay INR 2,000 a per paper for the regular period and INR 2,500 for the extended period. Dates of the examination itself will be publicised in the months prior to the exam, as well as on the admit card for the exam paper.
