Abu Dhabi Launches AI Scholarship for UG Students at MBZUAI

Abu Dhabi has launched the Tahnoon bin Zayed Scholarship for AI Excellence, an innovative program aimed at assisting exceptional undergraduate students at the Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence (MBZUAI).

Beginning in the 2025–2026 academic year, the scholarship will assist approximately 350 students over a span of six years, providing financial aid, international experience, and tools for innovation and entrepreneurship.

The scholarship, led by His Highness Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Ruler of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Artificial Intelligence and Advanced Technology Council (AIATC), embodies the UAE's wider ambition to establish itself as a global center for artificial intelligence and advanced technology, advocated by President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

The selection process will be based on merit, emphasizing mathematical proficiency, leadership qualities, and an entrepreneurial attitude. Along with financial assistance, beneficiaries will have chances to represent the UAE at prominent youth events both locally and internationally, as well as resources to start technology initiatives. Sheikh Tahnoon highlighted that the scholarship aims to enable young innovators to use knowledge ethically, contribute to humanity, and enhance the UAE’s status as a leader in worldwide innovation.

MBZUAI’s Bachelor of Science in Artificial Intelligence sets itself apart from conventional AI programs by combining essential technical education with leadership, entrepreneurship, and interdisciplinary learning.
