Fulbright Scholarship: How to Study in the US for Free

Applications are now open for the Fulbright Foreign Student Program 2027–28, and yes this is for Bangladeshi graduates plus early-career professionals who want to chase a fully funded Master’s degree in the United States, at well regarded universities. This programme gets funded every year by the US government, and in many ways it is among the world’s more prestigious international education exchange initiatives. It focuses on academic excellence, growth in leadership style, and a genuine sense of mutual understanding between the United States and the participating countries.

Every year, the Fulbright Foreign Student Program backs nearly 4,000 students coming from about 160 different countries, so they can go ahead and pursue postgraduate studies across many fields of study. This scholarship provides a full package of financial help. It includes visa assistance, round-trip airfare, the full tuition fees, a monthly living stipend and also money for books along with other education related costs, which makes it easier for recipients to concentrate almost completely on what they are studying and researching.

The scholarship is available for Master’s degree programs in a variety of fields, including higher education administration, curriculum development, health and medical sciences, biological and physical sciences, social sciences, humanities, business, economics, public policy, environmental sciences urban planning, psychology, security studies, and the arts.

For eligibility, applicants need to have at least a minimum of a four-year bachelor’s degree from a recognised public or private university in Bangladesh, and also be Bangladeshi citizens who are currently residing in the country when they apply. Most candidates should show they have no less than two years of full-time professional experience that is relevant to the field of study they intend to follow. Applicants should not have already earned any degree from a US university, nor should they be currently enrolled in a US academic program. If someone already has a Master’s degree from within Bangladesh, they can still apply, however candidates who hold Master’s degrees from other countries are not eligible.

Applicants are also expected to show English language proficiency, with at least a 90 on the TOEFL iBT or 7.0 on the IELTS, though you know it can be slightly different depending on the year. The application steps involve filling out an online application form, also submitting academic transcripts and certificates, plus three letters of recommendation. You also need to upload an academic records information form, and then submit your TOEFL or IELTS results. If you happen to have taken the GRE or GMAT, you are encouraged to add those scores too especially if they are needed for admission to the Master’s programme you selected.

With the Fulbright Foreign Student Program providing 100% funded access to top-tier education, it keeps giving Bangladeshi scholars and working professionals a real chance to grow.
