IIFT to Launch First Overseas Campus in Dubai,Boosting Global Presence

The Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) has revealed plans to set up its first overseas campus in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates. IIFT solidifies its international presence and secures India’s position as a leader in the field of international business education. Plans for the campus call for launching courses that target these fields and serve this region’s rapidly evolving business environment.

The initiative has obtained all necessary approvals and certifications from the government departments including the Ministry of Education, Ministry of External Affairs, Ministry of Home Affairs and the University Grants Commission. This initiative supports the goals set by NEP 2020 to catalyse the global integration of Indian higher education institutions. Collaboration and exchanges among students and scholars from around the world are the focus of the academic community.

Union Commerce and Industry Minister Shri Piyush Goyal, expressing his happiness and congratulating IIFT on this landmark achievement, said, “This truly reflects the spirit of the National Education Policy 2020, marking a new chapter in the internationalisation of Indian education and its growing role in shaping thought leadership globally. It is also a testament to the strengthening India-UAE partnership, and this new campus will play a pivotal role in moulding the business leaders of tomorrow.”

Commerce Secretary Shri Sunil Barthwal hailed the move as a historic moment in IIFT’s 62-year legacy, emphasizing its role in positioning India as a hub for world-class education in international trade. He commended IIFT for staying in step with national objectives by making concrete contributions to enhancing Indian exports. The establishment of the Dubai campus will foster stronger trade ties between India and the United Arab Emirates by drawing on Dubai’s international commercial importance to train the next generation of business talent.
