According to an NDTV report, scholars obtain a monthly allowance to help cover living expenses and have access to health insurance, making it among the most complete funding options for studying internationally.
The scholarship is available to students from nations that possess a bilateral education agreement with Hungary. In India, the Ministry of Education or other recognized bodies handle the nomination process.
Candidates need to fulfill specific requirements to be eligible for acceptance. Applicants must be citizens of an eligible partner country, hold the necessary academic credentials for their selected programme such as a bachelor’s degree for those seeking a master’s programme, and be at least 18 years old upon admission.
The program provides various advantages, such as a complete tuition fee exemption for the entire period, a monthly allowance of about HUF 43,700 (about Rs 22,000) to assist with living costs, and health insurance that grants access to Hungary's public healthcare system.

Candidates must submit their applications via the official portal at stipendiumhungaricum.hu to apply. Necessary documents consist of a motivation letter, academic records, evidence of language skills, and a current passport.
