University of Leeds Offers Scholarship for Indian Students

The University of Leeds (UoL) is excited to introduce the International Excellence Scholarship 2026, aimed at attracting and assisting outstanding students from around the world. 

Providing significant financial support to exceptional international students undertaking undergraduate and postgraduate education, the scholarship symbolizes the University's dedication to academic quality, diversity, and worldwide involvement.

As a merit scholarship, it acknowledges and honors outstanding academic achievement. Qualified applicants will showcase a solid academic history, leadership abilities, and a dedication to enhancing the dynamic and inclusive community at UoL.

These scholarships, based on merit, aim to draw exceptional students, motivating them to undertake their postgraduate studies at UoL with considerable financial assistance. This effort demonstrates the University’s dedication to nurturing global talent and improving academic diversity within the campus.

Candidates must be identified as international fee-paying students and possess either a conditional or unconditional offer for a Master’s degree (including MRes) commencing in September 2026 to qualify for the International Excellence Scholarship.

 Candidates must show excellent academic performance, focusing on previous achievements and their ability to advance in their selected discipline. The scholarship is not valid for the Leeds MBA or any online classes. Since scholarships are very competitive, they are awarded based on merit.

There will be two application rounds for the scholarship. For Application Round One, candidates must submit their applications by 5 pm GMT on 27 February 2026. Applicants accepted will be notified of the results by 27 March 2026. For Application Round Two, candidates must submit their applications by 4 pm GMT on 15 May 2026.

The applicants will be notified of the results of the applications by 12 June 2026. There will be up to 500 awards, which will be awarded in amounts of £3,000, £6,000, and £16,000 and assist qualified international students. Candidates must complete the online scholarship application form following an application for a master’s program. Candidates are encouraged to refer to the official scholarship websites to find the full information regarding eligibility criteria, processes, and deadlines.
