Overview

India has over 650 universities. Over the years there has been a sharp rise in the number of private universities being established in the country. Despite the number of private universities exceeding 200, majority of them are not well established. While there are millions of students who are studying in various institutions affiliated to these private universities it is difficult for the upcoming students to navigate through the huge barrage of private universities and join the best.

The private universities in India vary in various aspects. While some of the universities who are well established are focused on research and global standards, there are others who are simply focused on filling seats and getting the huge sums of money for the sub standard education they provide to the naïve students. However, with the increase in the number of universities who have set their goals to provide more research opportunities and become one of the top universities in the global standards, students are striving to join them and pursue their courses with them.

In this endeavor, we the team at Higher Education Review (HER) Magazine are presenting the "Top 25 Private/Deemed Universities in India" Survey. With this survey, we hope to guide the large community of students in India and their parents to enable them to choose the best universities themselves to pursue the course of their choice. By conducting the University Survey, we have found out that there are many capable universities where students are able to get the best placements with high pay packages or are becoming entrepreneurs and hence are providing hundreds of unemployed graduates, job opportunities. The Universities are well equipped in infrastructure and have excellent faculty members who are making a mark in research and creating innovative pedagogies, which will benefit the students.

The University Survey represents the viewpoints of several renowned experienced business leaders from the industry and academia. It has been conducted on the basis of Nominations received from the Universities. The Nominations have been further evaluated and shortlisted by a panel of Educationalists, HR Recruiters, and the HER Editorial team based on the data inputs provided by the institutes.
