The anniversary announcement of the Mumbai Enterprise Campus was made by Vice Chancellor Evelyn Welch to celebrate the five-year anniversary of India's National Education Policy 2020. The project aims to leverage Bristol's academic expertise as part of the flexible landscape of India's innovation environment. The campus will be closely aligned with Bristol’s forthcoming Temple Quarter Enterprise Campus, in the UK, which aims to develop bilateral pathways for academics, industry and community to come together to produce research-led education and innovate learning. Bristol has emphasised the value of partnership above all with local institutions, industry, and students to create a truly inclusive, co-created, learning environment.
Students at the Mumbai campus can avail of the university’s Think Big scholarships and participate in globally reputable curricula connected directly to industry, affording pathways to international careers whilst also better aligning and developing India’s skilled workforce.
This milestone is the first foreign university campus in India approved under the NEP 2020 policy framework and supports India’s strategic ambition to be at the forefront of international higher education integration, and becomes part of Bristol’s strategy to enhance its share of international footprint while also embracing civic engagement through education.
