The National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) has renewed the deadline for the online application of its 2026 Entry Test (NIFTEE, 2026). Hence, the potential candidates of the undergraduate and postgraduate programs in fashion design, technology, and management are granted more time to submit their applications.

Presently, the regular application window for new applicants will be open until 13 Jan 2026, whereas the late application shall be accepted from 14 to 16 Jan 2026 along with an additional fee. The extension of the deadline has been granted to enable more candidates to avail of the discounted fees for 2026, 27 batch.

The application is only through the web portal on the official website where the candidates will find the portal operated by National Testing Agency (NTA). The entrance test, comprising computer, based as well as pen, paper segments, is planned for 08 Feb 2026 at a total of 102 cities in India. The fees have been drastically reduced: General/OBC/EWS categories will be charged only 2, 000 (earlier 3, 000) and SC/ST/PwD 500 (earlier 1, 500), thereby making it more affordable.

Established in 1986, NIFT (National Institute of Fashion Technology) originally under the Ministry of Textiles, has today 19 campuses across various cities in India such as Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai, etc. Through entrance, aspirants get access to reputed professional courses like B.Des, B.FTech, M.Des, MFM, and M.FTech, which combine art and technology to address the needs of the fashion sector.

Students aiming to appear for the exams should register without delay, check their eligibility to be in the right class/qualifying degree as per the criterion for the Course UG (Class 12) / PG (Graduation), and keep an eye on the official website for releasing of admit cards, test formats, and other information.
