AIIMS Raipur and IIT Indore Launch AarogyaAI Course

AIIMS Raipur and IIT Indore launch “AarogyaAI,” a joint three-month interdisciplinary certification course designed to bridge clinical medicine and artificial intelligence for doctors, engineers, and healthcare professionals.
In a major initiative to bridge the growing divide between medical science and data engineering, the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Raipur and the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Indore have launched a specialized joint certification program titled “AarogyaAI.” The three-month online interdisciplinary course is tailored specifically for healthcare practitioners, engineers, researchers, and data scientists seeking to deploy artificial intelligence in clinical workflows.
The initiative stems from a recognized gap in modern healthcare delivery: while computer scientists frequently design sophisticated algorithms, they often lack nuanced clinical domain understanding; conversely, physicians encounter diagnostic bottlenecks that AI could solve, yet lack the technical literacy to implement digital systems effectively. AarogyaAI seeks to harmonize these disciplines by offering a structured, collaborative learning environment.

Structured around practical biomedical applications, the curriculum covers key frontiers in digital health, including medical imaging diagnostics, predictive analytics for patient outcomes, electronic health record processing, neural networks in critical care, and natural language tools for digital prescriptions. Beyond technical modeling, the coursework places strong emphasis on algorithmic validation, data governance, ethical AI integration, and regulatory compliance within clinical environments.
The program builds directly upon the strategic partnership forged between AIIMS Raipur’s bio-innovation center, SRIJAN, and IIT Indore’s DRISHTI CPS Foundation. Under this collaborative framework, the two premier institutes have already established a joint AI deployment lab aimed at creating real-world clinical decision support systems and tackling issues such as intensive care monitoring fatigue.

Institutional leaders highlighted that interdisciplinary convergence is imperative for making next-generation medical technology scalable, accessible, and clinically dependable across India’s public and private healthcare sectors. AarogyaAI marks a concrete step forward in cultivating a new cohort of bilingual professionals proficient in both clinical practice and artificial intelligence.
