IIT Bombay, Honeywell Launch Sustainability Skills Centre

The Indian Institute of Technology Bombay has partnered with Honeywell to establish a new Centre of Excellence (CoE) which will develop sustainable skills through programs dedicated to student and professional development.

The initiative establishes a partnership between academic institutions and commercial enterprises to provide students with real-world training which they need to solve current environmental and sustainability problems.

The centre will operate from the institute's Powai campus and will establish training programs which will produce workers for new green and sustainability-oriented industries.

The courses enable participants to learn about sustainability challenges which they will address through current technological solutions and policy development methods.

The curriculum will include topics such as sustainability reporting sustainable finance, energy security sustainability infrastructure and policy advocacy. The programme requires students to complete planned educational activities which combine theoretical learning with practical knowledge from the field.

The newly launched centre will offer certificate-based programmes that combine classroom learning with hands-on projects. The courses enable participants to learn about actual sustainability challenges while using current technology and policy solutions to create their answers.
