Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has announced three student welfare programs which will provide financial assistance and educational opportunities and research support to students throughout Assam.
The government introduced its programs during a public event to help students who face academic and financial challenges especially those who come from low-income households.
The first initiative called "Mukhyamantri Nijut Babu Asoni" delivers monthly financial aid to undergraduate and postgraduate students who come from families that earn less than ₹4 lakh each year.
The program provides eligible undergraduate students with ₹1,000 monthly payments while postgraduate students receive ₹2,000 monthly payments for ten months during the academic year to help them cover their educational expenses and maintain their studies without financial difficulties.
The 'Jibon Prerana Asoni' program provides specific support to both recent graduates and researchers. The government will provide monthly financial assistance of ₹2,500 to 48319 new graduates from state institutions for a period of one year.

The 'Jibon Anuprerana' program provides research support to PhD scholars who qualify for financial assistance of ₹25,000 and to disabled scholars who will receive ₹40,000 each. The initiatives work to boost research activities while keeping scholars in academia and assisting young researchers to develop original projects.
The state government established 34 new technology centres through its Udyog 4.0 initiative which supports technical education at Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) and polytechnic colleges.
The centres will develop skills for upcoming technology and artificial intelligence fields through their ₹3,000 crore investment.
The government signed agreements with industry partners to establish advanced technical education programs in schools and colleges which will enhance Assam's educational system.
The financial support expansion and research opportunity improvement together with student skill development programs which help economically disadvantaged families create the three schemes which represent Assam's development efforts.
