IIT Delhi Opens Applications for AI and Machine Learning Course

IIT Delhi opens applications for its six-month AI and machine learning certificate programme for science, engineering and commerce graduates, with classes starting January 9, 2027. The deadline is January 8.

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi has launched the ninth batch of its Certificate Programme in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI/ML) for Industry, offering learners an opportunity to develop practical skills in emerging technologies. The six-month programme is designed for technology enthusiasts and professionals from non-computer science backgrounds who want to understand machine learning concepts and apply them to real-world challenges.

According to the institute, the programme combines theoretical instruction with hands-on learning to help participants understand machine learning tools, algorithms and their industrial applications. Learners explore how AI and ML techniques can be applied across sectors such as e-commerce, engineering, power and policymaking.

The programme is scheduled to begin on January 9, 2027, and conclude on July 10, 2027. Classes will take place every Saturday from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm. interested candidates can submit their applications until January 8, 2027.

The programme is open to graduates in science, engineering or commerce. Diploma holders with qualifications following the 10+3 or 10+2+3 education patterns are also eligible to apply. Candidates with relevant professional experience receive preference, according to the published course details.

The curriculum focuses on the fundamentals of artificial intelligence and machine learning, including algorithms, tools and techniques used to solve industry-related problems. Participants gain practical exposure through case studies and exercises, helping them understand how machine learning methods are developed and applied in professional settings.

The programme aims to make AI and ML concepts accessible to learners from different academic backgrounds while building their ability to apply these technologies across industries.
