The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay has extended the registration deadline for the Joint Admission Test for Master's (JAM) 2026 to October 20, 2025. This entrance exam acts as a portal for applicants aiming for admission to multiple MSc and MS programs throughout IITs. Previously, the final date for signing up was October 12.
The IIT JAM 2026 examination is scheduled for February 15, 2026, and will take place in various sessions across seven subjects. Around 3,000 seats are offered through 89 postgraduate admissions in 22 IITs, presenting a vital chance for students looking to advance their education in science and technology fields. Applicants can submit their applications through the official website joaps.iitb.ac.in.
Candidates may enroll for IIT JAM 2026 via the JOAPS website. The new deadline is October 20, 2025, at 11:59 PM IST. The registration procedure requires forming an account, providing personal and academic information, uploading scanned documents, choosing exam papers and locations, paying the application fee, and submitting the application. Candidates can select a maximum of two test papers and three desired exam locations.

The JAM 2026 examination is scheduled for February 15, 2026, featuring morning and afternoon sessions. The seven disciplines available are Biotechnology (BT), Chemistry (CY), Economics (EN), Geology (GG), Mathematics (MA), Mathematical Statistics (MS), and Physics (PH).
A total of 3,000 seats are available among 22 IITs. Qualified candidates will engage in a counseling procedure, with seating distribution determined by rank, selected courses, and availability. IIT Kanpur has launched three new programs: an integrated PhD in Sustainable Energy Engineering, an MSc in Economics, and a dual MSc-PhD degree in Chemistry.
