IIT JAM 2027 Registrations From Sept 5, Check Exam Details

IIT Kharagpur will begin IIT JAM 2027 registrations on September 5, 2026. The exam is scheduled for February 14, 2027, with seven test papers. Candidates can use JAM scores for admission to postgraduate programmes at IITs and other participating institutes.

The Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur (IIT Kharagpur) has started the registration process for the Joint Admission Test for Masters (IIT JAM) 2027 on September 5, 2026. This is the year of the examination conducted by the institute and the institute has recently made the JAM 2027 official website.

The JAM 2027 exam date is set for February 14, 2027 and the result announcement is announced on March 18, 2027. Official information brochure will be released on August 22 with the detailed information on eligibility, the requirements for applications and admission procedures.

JAM is a national-level entrance test for admission to the post-graduate courses in the science and science related fields. Candidates having a valid JAM score may be able to avail the opportunities of MSc, MSc-PhD and other Post-Graduate courses at the IIT's and eligible institutions.

The examination will be taken under seven papers for 2027, which will include subjects such as Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematical Statistics, Biotechnology, Geology and Economics. The candidates are free to choose the paper or papers relevant to their academic background and programme of study.

Eligibility for the examination: Academic requirements as prescribed. Candidates who have completed or appearing in their Under-graduing qualification and meet the Minimum Educational Qualifications and eligibility requirement of the admitting institute may apply. A maximum age limit is not set for taking the JAM exam.

It is also important to note that getting the eligibility for the examination does not guarantee admission. Applicants should fulfill the requirement of the postgraduate program and the institute they are applying for.

The exam and Admission for JAM 2027 will be computer-based test. Qualified candidates can avail of their scores for post-graduate studies in IITs and other participating institutes on the basis of their individual admission criteria and availability of seats.

It offers a pathway to top universities for students with diverse science and related academic backgrounds. The programmes that are part of this involvement span from basic sciences through interdisciplinary programmes.

The registrations will open on September 5 and the candidates will be given a chance to go through the eligibility criteria, choose the test paper of their choice, prepare the documents in advance and submit their applications.
