IIT Kanpur Launches Online MTech, MSc, PG Diploma Courses

The Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur (IIT Kanpur) has made available online MTech, MSc, and Postgraduate Diploma (PG Diploma) programs for working professionals and graduates from all over India.

IIT Kanpur is expanding online education with MTech, MSc, and postgraduate diploma options, offering IIT programs through distance learning to advance higher education opportunities.

The application process for these programs began on October 5. Candidates who fulfill the eligibility conditions should have a minimum CPI of 5.5 (55%) in their qualifying degree. Admissions will happen based on the scores of valid national tests like GATE, JAM, CEED, CAT, GRE or GMAT (with specific cut-offs determined by the department) or through the online entrance test conducted by IIT Kanpur.

In addition, departments may specify additional eligibility criteria such as a relevant academic background, relevant job experience, relevant research experience, certain CPI levels, additional tests or interviews.

However, professionals who have more than five years of relevant experience or are recommended by government or defense organizations may not be required to take the online test.

Students can pursue these programmes in a flexible format, allowing 2-4 years for MTech or MSc courses, and 1-2 years if seeking a PG Diploma. Students will have the benefit of direct mentorship and live classes with IIT Kanpur faculty, allowing them to work while pursuing their education.

These courses are interdisciplinary and applicable to industry. Online MTech programme options are Wireless Networks & Machine Learning, RF Engineering, and Microelectronics & VLSI.

MSc programme options are offered in Economics and Data Analytics, and there are also PG Diplomas in Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning, Cyber Security, and Renewable Energy Technologies.
