IIT Roorkee & Futurense Launch Advanced AI Engineering Certification

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee has unveiled India’s first Advanced Certification in AI Engineering and AIOps, in partnership with Futurense. The nine-month course is set to commence in August 2025 and aims to educate working professionals on implementing AI systems at scale, especially in cloud-native and Agentic AI settings, AI engineers.

The certification from IIT Roorkee seeks to tackle issues in implementing AI solutions, particularly the low success rate of GenAI pilots transitioning into production-ready systems.

The program offers education in creating, optimizing, and implementing large language models (LLMs) on leading cloud platforms such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

Participants will build comprehensive AI skills emphasizing orchestration, MLOps, and observability in organizational systems.

The curriculum aims to connect AI development and deployment, merging AI model design with DevOps practices and secure infrastructure. It features sections on LLM creation and implementation, AIOps, designing agent-based systems, vector databases, and ethical guidelines for AI compliance.

Participants will utilize tools such as LangChain, Hugging Face, AutoGen, TensorFlow, PyTorch, Docker, Kubernetes, and MLflow. Learning is provided via live online sessions on weekends, along with capstone projects that incorporate practical applications like multi-agent workflows and GenAI integrations.

The program welcomes professionals who hold a bachelor’s degree in any STEM field, requiring a minimum of 50% marks. It is especially ideal for AI engineers, MLOps experts, DevOps practitioners, cloud developers, data scientists moving to GenAI positions, and tech professionals aiming for cross-disciplinary proficiency.

Preferably, candidates with a minimum of one year of professional experience are sought, but recent graduates holding relevant certifications are welcome to apply as well. Every applicant must pass a pre-screening exam.

The programme will begin accepting applications in June 2025. The program is set to begin in August 2025 and last for a period of nine months. The certification is offered in a hybrid format, merging live online weekend classes with an optional three-day on-campus experience at IIT Roorkee. This practical element aims to facilitate direct engagement with faculty, industry mentors, and fellow students. Once completed successfully, participants will obtain a certificate from IIT Roorkee.
