The institute was established in the year 1999 under the dynamic stewardship of its Chairman Sardar Jodh Singh, the Narula Education Trust took upon itself the onerous task of providing quality technical education in the private sector in the state of West Bengal. With a vision to provide high standards in dental education, Guru Nanak Institute of Dental Sciences & Research is one of the few institutes to
conduct research activities. The team of dedicated academicians and researchers from Guru Nanak Institute of Dental Sciences & Research and from the School of Medical Science & Technology, IIT Kharagpur are having several research publications in international journals, a mark of recognition of their research in the field of oral cancer. The research team from this Institute is very much dedicated to conduct advance research in several super specialty fields of dental sciences being backed by the administration effectively. For fostering research activities, the institute has equipped with excellent infrastructure and academic ambiance conducive to advanced learning.
The institute can boast of its very competent and highly qualified nationally as well as internationally famous teaching staffs, who are actively involved in a dedication and discipline manner to impact quality teaching and training to the students as well as quality treatment to the patients. The dental hospital is equipped with over 252 chairs units, which are distributed among the different dental departments. Each department has its own fully furnished and equipped with HOD's room, faculty room, clinics, laboratory, sterilization room, patient's waiting room, departmental library, seminar room etc. Averages of 400 patients are treated daily in various departments.
