Vocational training has played a major role in bridging the gap between academia and the industry. While conventional colleges are aimed at providing theoretical education, vocational colleges emphasize on offering job oriented courses that are practical intensive. At a time when the majority of graduates are not industry-ready, learning by doing approach adopted by vocational institutes has been crucial in reducing the unemployment rate in the country. Vocational training received on certain fields like fitting, plumbing, automobile, vehicle technology, construction, engineering and management makes the individuals industry-ready. One such institute that has been committed to the cause of equipping the students with the skills needed to thrive and become successful in the new world is Rustomjee Academy for Global Careers (RAGC). All three campuses of RAGC that are situated in Thane and Dahanu in Mumbai and RPVETC in Bangalore are focused on their mission to train over five lakh students by the end of 2024.
