Dr. M. Karunanithi,Chairman Professor Dr. M. Karunanithi is a well-known educationist, philanthropist, chemist, and industrialist. For his contributions to women empowerment, he has been conferred with the honor "Vidhya Rathna" in 2007 by the world Friendship Council in the United Arabic Emirates. He has earned numerous such accolades in his lifetime, including being awarded D.Litt, by the Tamil University in 2008, for his outstanding service rendered to women's education.

Dr. KCK. Vijayakumar, Principal

Currently holding the position of Principal at VCEW, Dr. KCK. Vijayakumar is a PhD holder in Mechanical Engineering. He has a vast experience in teaching and research with publishing several National and International Journals. His areas of interests include Engineering Design, Strength of Materials, Heat and Mass Transfer, Solar Passive Design of Buildings, Design optimization and Taguchi method.

In the recently held Asian Games, what stole million hearts of the country was the visible glory and pride on the face of the country's sportswomen, who demonstrated grit and determination by winning several medals in the varied fields. It showed the world the emergence of a powerful and empowered generation of Indian women, who can achieve victory, despite facing many challenges. Likewise, the participation of women in higher education in the contemporary time is also quite notable, with the latest edition of All India Survey of Higher Education (AISHE-2017-18), which estimates total enrolment in higher education at about 36.6 million where girls (17.4 million) constitute 47.6 percent. "Our country is getting a drastic change. Women of modern India can be found in every field, showing their potentialities and power. We at Vivekanandha College of Engineering for Women (VCEW) are committed to developing the young girls into capable women who are imbibed with ample leadership qualities," shares Dr. M. Instituted in the year 2001, by the auspices of "Angammal Educational Trust", VCEW, an autonomous institute, is affiliated to Anna University, is approved by AICTE and is accredited by NAAC. Currently, the institute runs five UG programmes in Engineering and Technology (Computer Science, Electrical & Electronics, Electronics & Communication, Information Technology, and Biotechnology) and six PG programmes viz. CSE, ECE (Applied Electronics & VLSI Design, EEE (PSE), IT & MBA). As a research-focus institute, VCEW also offers two research programmes in CSE & EEE (Approved Research Centre of Anna University, Chennai for doing M.S / Ph.D. Research Programmes).

Having bagged the 1st rank in Anna University-Academic performance of affiliated colleges among 516 institutions, in the year 2016, VCEW is the receiver of many such awards and accolades including ICT Academy Best practices Award 2018, "Best Women Engineering college of India Award" by ISTE among 24 Women's Engineering College and so on. favorable and utmost safe environment within the campus to study along with state-of-the-art facilities," claims Dr. Karunanithi. For better evaluation of the students, the institute has adopted the Relative Grading System, which is mostly followed by foreign Universities. "Our curricula and syllabi are based on IITs curricula and syllabi. Additionally, we introduced the Credit-Based Choice System from the academic year 2015-2016, providing the students the scope to select a course from wide ranges of choices," states Dr. Karunanithi. Priding on raising the rate of placement every year, with placing all the students in reputed MNCs, VCEW in next couple of years is resolute to strive for earning University status and has plans to develop individual research center for each department.
