Indian Coast Guard Recruitment 2026 for 365 Vacancies

The Indian Coast Guard opens applications for 365 posts under CGEPT 2026, with eligible candidates able to apply for Navik, Yantrik and Hygienist-I positions until October 21.

The Indian Coast Guard has invited applications for 365 posts under the Coast Guard Enrolled Personnel Test (CGEPT) for the 01/2027 and 02/2027 batches. The recruitment includes vacancies for Navik (General Duty), Navik (Domestic Branch), Yantrik and Hygienist-I posts. The application process opened, and eligible candidates can apply online until October 21.

The recruitment is being conducted through the Staff Selection Commission (SSC). Candidates are required to register and submit their applications online through the SSC website. They must retain access to their registered email ID and mobile number, which will be required for accessing the candidate dashboard, downloading the e-admit card and checking results.

Vacancy Details and Eligibility: The 365 vacancies are divided between the two batches. CGEPT 01/2027 has 190 vacancies, including 130 Navik (General Duty) and posts for Yantrik in Mechanical, Electrical and Electronics disciplines. CGEPT 02/2027 has 175 vacancies, including 130 Navik (General Duty), 25 Navik (Domestic Branch) and 20 Hygienist-I posts.

For Navik (General Duty), candidates must have passed Class 12 with Mathematics and Physics from a board recognised by the Council of Boards for School Education. Navik (Domestic Branch) applicants must have passed Class 10. Hygienist-I candidates require matriculation, ITI or an equivalent qualification recognised by the Central or State Government.

For Yantrik posts, candidates must have passed Class 10 and hold a three- or four-year AICTE-approved diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, Electronics or Telecommunication (Radio/Power) Engineering. Candidates with Class 10 and Class 12 qualifications along with an approved two- or three-year diploma in the relevant engineering discipline are also eligible.

Age Limit and Selection Process: The age criteria vary by post and batch. For Navik (GD), eligible candidates should be born between November 1, 2005, and May 1, 2009. For Yantrik, the applicable birth-date range is May 1, 2005, to May 1, 2009. Navik (DB) candidates should be born between November 1, 2005, and October 1, 2009, while the applicable range for Hygienist-I is November 1, 2002, to October 1, 2009.

The selection process consists of four stages. Stage I is a one-hour computer based examination with 100 questions and no negative marking. Candidates shortlisted from this stage undergo identity and biometric verification, a Physical Fitness Test, an Assessment and Adaptability Test and document verification in Stage II. Those meeting the required merit criteria proceed to Stage III at INS Chilka, followed by final document authentication in Stage IV.

Selected Yantrik personnel will receive a basic pay of ₹29,200 under Pay Level 5, along with Yantrik pay of ₹6,200 and applicable allowances. Navik and Hygienist-I posts carry a basic pay of ₹21,700 under Pay Level 3, besides applicable allowances and service benefits.
