Punjab Court Clerk Recruitment 2026: 1,270 Vacancies, Apply

Punjab’s SSSC announces 1,270 clerk vacancies in district courts. Eligible graduates can apply online from October 7 to November 4, 2026, with selection based on a written examination and computer proficiency test.

The Society for Centralized Recruitment of Staff in Subordinate Courts (SSSC), under the Punjab and Haryana High Court, has announced 1,270 vacancies for clerk posts in Punjab’s district courts. The recruitment notification was released, with the online application process scheduled to begin on October 7.

Eligible candidates can submit applications through the official SSSC website, until November 4, 2026. Both the opening and closing deadlines are set for 4 p.m. Candidates are advised to review the detailed notification before applying.

Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree in Arts, Science or an equivalent qualification from a recognised university. They must also have studied Punjabi as a subject at the matriculation level and possess computer proficiency. The minimum age requirement is 18 years, while the upper age limit for general-category candidates is 37 years. Applicable age relaxations are available for eligible reserved categories under the prescribed rules.

The recruitment process includes a two-hour computer-based written examination carrying 100 marks. The test comprises 50 objective questions in General Knowledge and an English section worth 50 marks, divided into 20 objective questions and a 30-mark descriptive component.

Candidates must secure at least 33% marks in each subject and 40% overall in the written examination to qualify. Shortlisted applicants will then take a Computer Proficiency Test, which includes a spreadsheet assessment and an English typing test requiring a speed of 30 words per minute. The computer proficiency test is qualifying in nature, and the final merit list will be prepared based on written examination scores.

Selected candidates will receive a salary under Level 5 of the pay matrix, with a starting monthly pay of ₹29,200. The recruitment aims to fill clerk positions across various district courts in Punjab through direct recruitment.
