Gujarat University Revises 2026 Exam Dates for Eid

Synopsis:  Gujarat University revises multiple examination dates and timings due to the Eid holiday schedule, with postponed exams now rescheduled between May 29 and June 6, 2026

Gujarat University has revised its examination schedule for 2026 following changes in the Eid holiday calendar, resulting in the postponement and rescheduling of more than 40 examinations across multiple undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. The university states that the decision is intended to ensure convenience and fairness for students observing the festival while maintaining the smooth conduct of examinations.

According to the updated notification issued by the university, the postponed examinations will now be conducted between May 29 and June 6, 2026. The revised schedule covers a wide range of academic programmes, including MSc, BSc, BBA, MBA, BA, LLM, IMBA, and other professional and interdisciplinary courses.

The university has released course-wise revised dates for affected examinations. Exams for FY and SY MSc IT, MSc Data Science, BA Drama Fine Arts Semester 2, and BPA Integrated Semester 4 are scheduled for May 29. Several BSc, BBA, BCA, BSc FAD, LLM, and MBA examinations will now be conducted on May 30. BA Semester 2 examinations are rescheduled for June 1, while remaining MBA and IMBA examinations will continue from June 2 to June 6.

Apart from revising examination dates, Gujarat University has also modified the timing for the BCom Semester 2 examination. The university states that the examination will now be held from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM due to the commencement of Company Secretary (CS) examinations from June 1. Officials clarify that timings for all other examinations remain unchanged.

The revision follows broader changes in public holiday schedules across several states and institutions after the Eid-ul-Adha observance date is updated. Multiple educational bodies and examination authorities across India have recently adjusted examination calendars to avoid clashes with the revised holiday schedule.

University authorities advise students to regularly monitor the official Gujarat University website and examination circulars for the latest updates, revised timetables, and examination-related notifications. The institution emphasizes that the adjustments are being implemented to minimise inconvenience and ensure efficient examination management during the holiday period.
