IIM Calcutta MBAEx Admission 2027: Dates and Eligibility

IIM Calcutta opens MBAEx Admission 2027 for its 21st batch, with Round 1 applications closing October 12. Eligible professionals need five years of experience, a qualifying degree and valid GMAT score.

The Indian Institute of Management Calcutta (IIM Calcutta) has opened applications for its MBA for Executives Programme (MBAEx) for the 2027-28 academic year. The one-year, full-time residential programme is designed for working professionals with at least five years of professional experience after graduation.

The programme is admitting its 21st batch and will conduct the admission process in two application rounds. For Round 1, candidates can submit completed applications until October 12, 2026. Round 2 will open on October 13 and remain available until December 1, 2026. Candidates can apply only once during the academic year, either in Round 1 or Round 2.

IIM Calcutta MBAEx Admission 2027, Eligibility: Applicants must hold a full-time bachelor's degree involving at least 15 years of education, such as 10+2+3 or 10+2+4, in any discipline. Candidates must have secured at least 60% marks or equivalent in both Class 10 and Class 12 and at least 60% in graduation and higher degrees, where applicable. Candidates with CA, ICWA, CS or FIAI qualifications need at least 50%.

Applicants must also have at least five years of full-time professional experience after graduation, calculated as of March 31, 2027. A valid GMAT score obtained within 36 months from August 1, 2026 is required, with a minimum score equivalent to the 50th percentile. IIM Calcutta has stated that online GMAT scores will not be accepted for the 21st batch.

Admission Process and Important Dates: Eligible applicants will be considered for the interview stage, which includes a Written Ability Test (WAT) and Personal Interview (PI). Round 1 interviews are scheduled for October 31 and November 1, 2026, while Round 2 interviews will take place on December 19 and 20, 2026.

Round 1 results are scheduled to be announced on November 16, 2026, while the final result following Round 2 is scheduled for January 11, 2027. Interviews will be conducted in Bengaluru, Kolkata, Mumbai and the National Capital Region, with an online option available for overseas candidates.

Candidates can apply online through IIM Calcutta's official MBAEx admission portal. The application fee is ₹5,000 for Indian nationals and $100 for NRI/foreign nationals or applications submitted from outside India. The fee is non-refundable.
