- IIM Indore sets CAT-based admissions with a strong focus on academics.
- Shortlisting prioritises Class 12 marks, CAT sections, and diversity factors.
- Final selection emphasises interview scores along with CAT and board marks.
The Indian Institute of Management Indore (IIM Indore) has announced the admission requirements for its primary two-year postgraduate programme (PGP) for the 2026-28 batch. The institute will employ a three-phase selection procedure relying on CAT 2025 scores – academic achievements in Classes 10 and 12, work experience, and results in the personal interview (PI).
According to the policy, candidates are required to take CAT 2025 and achieve the minimum sectional and overall percentile cut-offs to qualify for consideration. For candidates in the General and EWS categories, the minimum overall cut-off is established at 90 percentile, with each section needing a minimum of 80 percentile. For NC-OBC candidates, the overall cutoff is set at 80 percentile, while SC, ST, and PwD candidates need to achieve 60, 45, and 45 percentile, respectively, to be deemed qualified.
During the shortlisting phase, IIM Indore has maintained its significant focus on Class 12 results, which hold a weightage of 25 percent, in contrast to the 10 per cent for Class 10. CAT sectional scores collectively contribute 55 percent to the composite score utilized for shortlisting. Work experience holds a minor importance of three percent, whereas the diversity aspect contributes an additional seven points.
Applicants selected for the interview will be notified in January 2026. Interviews will take place in offline format in seven cities – Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Indore, Kolkata, and Mumbai. According to a statement from IIM Indore, the interview might also be conducted online based on the situation.
In the final selection, the personal interview accounting for 45 percent of the overall composite score. Scores from the CAT section account for 40 percent, while Class 10 and 12 marks each account for five percent. A diversity factor of five marks is incorporated at this point.
IIM Indore has highlighted that just fulfilling eligibility or cut-offs does not ensure a call. Candidates are required to achieve the minimum performance standards in every PI parameter; failure to do so will result in disqualification.

The institute will adhere to the Government of India’s reservation policy: 27% of seats for NC-OBC, 15% for SC, 7.5% for ST, up to 10% for EWS, and 5% for PwD candidates. However, every candidate, regardless of category, is required to fulfill the minimum performance criteria established by the institute.
Candidates whose Class 10 or 12 results were impacted by COVID-19 board evaluation policies will see their score weightages reallocated proportionally to other components such as CAT sectional scores and existing board marks. The institute has also stated that any alterations in government or institutional guidelines could alter the admission process.
