IIM Lucknow Launches Fellowship with ₹1 Lakh Journal Award

The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Lucknow has unveiled the "99 Moonshots" fellowship, a grant program designed to boost research output among its Ph.D. students. The fellowship, financed by the institute's postgraduate program, class of 1999, will assist two PhD students this year.

The "99 Moonshots" fellowship aims to enable outstanding doctoral candidates to engage in thorough academic research and produce work that benefits academia, industry, and society. The program provides enhanced academic assistance, publication rewards, and chances to engage in prestigious global conferences.

Sanjay Singh, Dean (Programme) at IIM Lucknow, thanked the alumni for their generous donation in creating the fellowship for PhD candidates. He remarked that their dedication to fostering future academics embodies the genuine essence of the IIM Lucknow alumni network and commended the initial fellowship recipients for showcasing exceptional academic potential.

Fellowship candidates are required to submit their research proposals to a specific selection committee that assesses them according to established criteria. Along with the fellowship, recipients will receive a publication award of Rs 1 lakh for research published or accepted in high-impact journals, a conference grant of Rs 3 lakh to present at prominent international conferences, and academic support, comprising contingency and data-collection grants, as per the PhD programme manual.

To guarantee continuous academic advancement, the fellowship mandates that recipients provide research updates biannually to a monitoring committee that includes their Thesis Advisory Committee and a member from the 1999 cohort.
