IIM Raipur Offers Fully Funded MBA in Policy & Governance with ₹50K Stipend

The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Raipur has unveiled its two-year MBA program in Public Policy and Governance, provided through the Chief Minister’s Good Governance Fellowship (CMGGF), a key initiative by the Government of Chhattisgarh. A total of 36 students will be chosen for this MBA program. The last day to submit applications is May 11, 2025.

The Chhattisgarh Government will completely fund the initiative by paying the full tuition costs for registered students, guaranteeing access to quality education. It will additionally offer a substantial monthly allowance of ₹50,000 to support the students’ educational efforts, studies, accommodation, and meals during academic terms at IIM Raipur.

Prof. Ram Kumar Kakani, Director, IIM Raipur, expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “At IIM Raipur, we believe that effective public policy is the backbone of inclusive development. Through this pioneering MBA in Public Policy and Governance, offered under the Chief Minister’s Good Governance Fellowship, we aim to equip aspiring leaders with the analytical skills, ethical grounding, and real-world experience needed to navigate complex governance challenges.”

The curriculum for this MBA program constitutes a mix of classroom learning on IIM Raipur's campus and experiential learning, which involves practically working with the Chhattisgarh Government in various types. This combination enables students to develop capabilities in policy analysis, governance structures and processes, leadership, and decision making while addressing contemporary issues related to public sector administration.

To apply for this program, candidates must be residents of Chhattisgarh state, have a valid CAT score from 2022, 2023, or 2024, and have a bachelor's degree with a minimum of 60% marks (55% marks for reserved category) or CGPA in accordance with the Chhattisgarh State Reservation Policy.
