IIM Udaipur to Exit CAP, Start Independent MBA Admissions 2026

  • IIM Udaipur to run its own MBA admissions from the 2026–28 batch.
  • PI and WAT selection based on IIMU’s criteria across cities and campuses.
  • The move aligns with IIMU’s global vision and academic priorities.

The Indian Institute of Management Udaipur (IIMU) declared that it will implement its own admission procedure for its Two-Year MBA program beginning with the 2026–28 batch. As a result of this transition, IIM Udaipur will cease its involvement in the Common Admission Process (CAP) managed by the newer IIMs.

By managing its own admissions, IIM Udaipur will be able to synchronize its admission criteria with the institute’s academic goals and international perspective. This method enables the integration of unique criteria specific to the institute that showcase IIMU’s particular strengths and values, while also providing a smooth, applicant-centered admissions process.

Candidates taking the CAT 2025 will be selected for the Personal Interview (PI) and Written Ability Test (WAT) at IIM Udaipur according to the Institute's criteria for shortlisting. These activities will take place in major Indian cities and at the IIM Udaipur campus, guaranteeing accessibility for applicants from all over the country.
