IIMB unveils General Management Program for Leaders

IIM Bangalore launches an eight-month General Management Programme for Emerging Leaders, targeting graduates with 5–8 years of work experience through blended learning and campus immersions.

The Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIM Bangalore) has launched the General Management for Emerging Leaders Programme (ELP) through IIMBx, its digital learning initiative. The eight-month blended programme is designed for professionals transitioning from individual contributor or functional roles into managerial and leadership positions. The inaugural cohort is scheduled to commence on September 30, 2026.

The programme is open to graduates from any discipline who have secured at least 50% marks and possess five to eight years of work experience. It combines online learning with faculty interaction, practical business applications and three campus immersion modules at IIM Bangalore. IIMBx lists September 21, 2026, as the closing date for registration for the inaugural cohort.

The ELP curriculum is structured around five broad themes: Leadership, Financial Acumen, Value through Customers, Strategic Thinking and Innovation, and Data-Driven Decision Making. Across ten faculty-led courses, participants explore people management, leadership communication, finance and accounting, marketing, strategy, innovation, decision sciences, artificial intelligence and digital strategy. The courses are delivered by IIM Bangalore faculty members who also teach the institute's flagship management programmes.

The programme also incorporates experiential learning components. A faculty-guided Action Learning Project enables participants to apply concepts from the programme to a live business challenge within their own organisation. Another component, The Arena, uses a live business simulation to provide practical exposure to managerial decision-making. Three campus immersion modules at IIM Bangalore further complement the blended learning format.

The programme focuses on developing capabilities required for professionals moving into roles involving people management, business decision-making and broader organisational responsibilities. Participants receive exposure to both functional management concepts and cross-functional perspectives through the programme's academic and experiential components.

Participants who successfully complete the programme receive a certificate issued by IIMBx along with Affiliate Alumni Status from IIM Bangalore. The programme is delivered through IIMBx, which provides technology-enabled management education through online and blended formats.
